How satellite connectivity optimizes industrial IoT
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a digital revolution that bears no name. Thanks to satellites, connected objects and their sensors, we can now retrieve precious data from these objects and use it in industry too, to monitor production systems, anticipate…
2024: Kinéis’ space olympiad
Kinéis’ space olympiad With the first of five launches approaching between June 10 and July 9, 2024, Kinéis is preparing itself for its most crucial and memorable year yet. 2024, the year when the project finally comes to fruition, just four years (an Olympiad) after the…
Kinéis nanosatellites : « Size doesn’t matter! »
Kinéis nanosatellites : “Size doesn’t matter!” In the summer of 2024, Kinéis, a French satellite operator and provider of global connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT), will launch its constellation of 25 nanosatellites, the first European constellation dedicated to the IoT with global coverage.…
What is a satellite constellation?
We’re all familiar with the Ursa Major and Orion constellations. However did you know that they’re not the only type of constellation in existence? With the emergence of the New Space era, different types of space missions have emerged, whether for…
Use Case: Pipeline management
The stakes In 2023, the total length of pipelines worldwide reached 2,270,526 km. These pipelines are distributed across all continents, primarily carrying natural gas, crude oil, petroleum, as well as some water and wastewater. A large number of these pipelines are located in…
Space IoT & hydrology
Water covers 72% of the surface of our Blue Planet (oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, groundwater, glaciers). Freshwater, essential to the survival of living species including our own, represents only 2.8% of the Earth’s water, compared with 97.8% salt water, according to the Centre d’Information sur l’Eau.
Internet of Things (IoT) and forest fires [2/2]
Faced with the scale and urgency of the mega-fires ravaging the planet, Kinéis has published a White Paper on the role of technology and satellite connectivity in new approaches to forest fire detection. Building on its expertise, Kinéis has just been named the winner of two projects in a Call for National Interest (AMIN) launched by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
Internet of Things (IoT) and forest fires detection [1/2]
Forests now cover 31% of our planet’s land surface. As well as being home to the majority of the Earth’s biodiversity, these fragile plant ecosystems play an important regulatory role in the fight against global warming, thanks in particular to their capacity to absorb around a tenth of the world’s carbon emissions in their biomass, soils and products. Improving soil, air and water quality, forests are indispensable to the Earth and our survival.
SmartSat: Kinéis stack for a quick integration
Kinéis has introduced a new offer to its catalog called SmartSat. This offer provides access to a library of documentation for quick and easy communication with satellites using commercially available components.
