Space IoT & hydrology
Water covers 72% of the surface of our Blue Planet (oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, groundwater, glaciers). Freshwater, essential to the survival of living species including our own, represents only 2.8% of the Earth’s water, compared with 97.8% salt water, according to the Centre d’Information sur l’Eau.
Internet of Things (IoT) and forest fires [2/2]
Faced with the scale and urgency of the mega-fires ravaging the planet, Kinéis has published a White Paper on the role of technology and satellite connectivity in new approaches to forest fire detection. Building on its expertise, Kinéis has just been named the winner of two projects in a Call for National Interest (AMIN) launched by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
Internet of Things (IoT) and forest fires detection [1/2]
Forests now cover 31% of our planet’s land surface. As well as being home to the majority of the Earth’s biodiversity, these fragile plant ecosystems play an important regulatory role in the fight against global warming, thanks in particular to their capacity to absorb around a tenth of the world’s carbon emissions in their biomass, soils and products. Improving soil, air and water quality, forests are indispensable to the Earth and our survival.
