Track Value: Multimodal IoT Traceability and Monitoring Solution
Track Value is a comprehensive IoT solution for the traceability and monitoring of transport flows, developed by a French industrial consortium bringing together Europorte, Kerlink, Synox, and Kinéis. It addresses the key challenges faced by rail, road, maritime, and air freight stakeholders: cargo security, operational visibility, logistics performance, and reduced environmental impact.
As the first industrial application dedicated to the freight sector to integrate Kinéis satellite connectivity, Track Value ensures reliable and secure data transmission, including in areas without terrestrial network coverage.
Global Traceability Enabled by Kinéis Satellite Connectivity
Thanks to Kinéis satellite connectivity, Track Value provides complete and continuous traceability of wagons, containers, and goods worldwide, including in white areas not covered by terrestrial networks (GSM, LoRa, etc.). The solution enables near real-time data collection and processing, improving operational reliability, cargo security, and decision-making.
Edge Computing and Embedded Intelligence for Data Efficiency
Track Value combines edge computing with embedded artificial intelligence, enabling transport events to be analyzed directly at the source. This approach significantly reduces the volume of transmitted data and delivers an almost zero carbon footprint for data usage. The solution therefore aligns with an energy-efficient and more sustainable transport strategy.
Collected Data and Advanced Monitoring
The IoT sensors integrated into Track Value enable the collection of multiple critical data points, such as:
- Temperature
- Pressure
- Humidity
- Accelerometer data (shocks, vibrations)
- Door opening
- Brake temperature
- Load indicators (empty / loaded)
These data ensure:
- Near real-time cargo security
- Anomaly detection and alerting (flow disruption, equipment or infrastructure failure)
- Anticipation of maintenance operations
Key Features of Track Value
Location and Traceability
- Precise tracking of wagon positions on railway maps
- Journey history for reliable traceability
- Detection of departures, stops, and passages through areas of interest
- Calculation of distance traveled
- Localization of isolated wagons
Predictive Maintenance
- Detection and alerts for abnormal behavior: shocks, temperature variations, applied brakes, wheel locking
- Load indicators to anticipate maintenance needs
- Optimization of intervention cycles and reduction of asset downtime
Benefits for Transport and Logistics Stakeholders
- Enhanced cargo security and reduced losses and damage
- Optimization of operating and maintenance costs
- Improved operational performance through global flow visibility
- Low power consumption and low environmental impact data transmission
- A scalable, future-proof solution adaptable to business needs
