Silvanet: An Intelligent Solution for Wildfire Monitoring and Prevention
Silvanet, developed by Dryad Networks, is an advanced wildfire monitoring solution specifically designed for forest environments and sensitive natural areas. Using an innovative technological approach, Silvanet can detect fire ignition at its very earliest stages, often during slow combustion, well before visible flames or dense smoke appear.
Leveraging our constellation of 25 satellites, we enable direct satellite transmission of data collected by Dryad’s solar-powered, intelligent sensors, without reliance on terrestrial networks. This integration ensures near real-time global connectivity, including in the most remote or infrastructure-free regions. Critical alerts can therefore be rapidly transmitted to the relevant authorities, significantly strengthening emergency response capabilities and contributing to the protection of ecosystems and critical infrastructure.
This early alert capability is a key lever to limit large-scale fire spread and reduce the impact of wildfires on ecosystems, infrastructure, and populations.
Early Detection for Rapid Response
The Silvanet sensor combines ultra-low-power air quality monitoring with advanced high-precision gas detection. To ensure reliable fire detection and minimize false positives, the system embeds artificial intelligence that continuously analyzes fused data from multiple sensors.
These sensors are specifically tuned to the full gaseous signature of a fire, including hydrogen and other characteristic gases detected at very low concentrations (ppm level). This multi-parameter analysis enables highly accurate identification of slow combustion phases, well before flames or visible smoke emerge.
