Kinéis Successfully Completes Its 4th Launch
and Signs Three New Strategic Contracts.
As the new year begins, Kinéis, operator of the first European constellation dedicated to IoT and provider of space connectivity, continues to achieve success. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at
8:43 PM (UTC), Rocket Lab’s Electron launcher successfully placed five new satellites into orbit
as part of the Kinéis constellation. Operated from New Zealand, this fourth launch, named
“IoT 4 You and Me,” brings the total number of deployed nanosatellites to 20 out of the 25 planned.
This success is accompanied by the signing of two new contracts with key partners Europorte-Kerlink and CLS. Additionally, the company has secured a win in one of the investment calls under the France 2030 space initiative. Over the next three years, Kinéis aims to become a world reference in IoT data transmission.
20 nanosatellites now in orbit
The success of the 4th launch once again demonstrates the reliability of Kinéis’ technical capabilities. Thanks to the precision of Rocket Lab’s Electron, the five nanosatellites have been placed in their planned positions.
With 20 nanosatellites now in orbit, Kinéis is getting closer to the full deployment of its IoT-dedicated constellation, scheduled for March 2025. This achievement will enable near real-time data transmission from anywhere on the globe.
« Producing 25 nanosatellites and launching them into orbit in just eight months is an unprecedented feat—and above all, a remarkable challenge! With this fourth and penultimate launch, Kinéis moves one step closer to its ambitious goal: delivering global IoT coverage through a complete constellation of 25 nanosatellites. This milestone showcases the expertise and determination of our teams and partners like Rocket Lab. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and commitment we have received since Kinéis was founded ».
enthusiastically declares Michel Sarthou, CTO of Kinéis.

New strategic contratcs
Since its creation in 2018, Kinéis has been building the European leader in satellite-based IoT data transmission. Today, Kinéis is one of the few connectivity solutions capable of addressing the challenge of remote areas with no network coverage. The two new strategic contracts recently signed by Kinéis confirm the confidence of economic players in its connectivity offering.
The consortium formed by Europorte and Kerlink (a global provider of IoT solutions) has placed an initial order with Kinéis to deploy the Track Value solution, with a target of 10,000 devices by 2026. Track Value addresses key challenges in the logistics and freight transport sectors, such as real-time wagon tracking and predictive maintenance for wheel blockages.
CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) is also strengthening its collaboration with Kinéis. As a key shareholder, holding 32% of the company, CLS plans to deploy 17,000 active devices in 2025 and 30,000 in 2026 using Kinéis connectivity. In the long run, CLS aims to enhance two key applications: tracking fishing vessels and monitoring livestock.
Kinéis, Winner of the France 2030 Program
On January 27, 2025, the French Government and the General Secretariat for Investment announced the winners of the France 2030 space call for projects. Kinéis is among the seven selected companies, reaffirming its position as a technological pioneer.
Kinéis’ services will play a key role in monitoring, measuring, and controlling parameters related to territories (e.g., rising sea levels, wildfire detection), logistics, networks, transport and energy infrastructures, as well as the positioning of strategic equipment.
2025 promises to be a decisive year for Kinéis, as the company prepares to launch its commercial services. Building on its successes, Kinéis is strengthening its position as a global leader in satellite IoT.
