Newsletter - February 2025
In this monthly edition, Kinéis reflects on the success of the 4th launch of 5 nanosatellites, new strategic partnerships with CLS, Europorte, and Kerlink, as well as a focus on its solutions for optimized management of electrical networks.
Also, join us in March in Toronto at the PDAC to discover our IoT solutions for the mining sector.

SUCCESS OF THE 4TH LAUNCH
A step closer to quickly obtaining key information
On February 8 at 21:43 Paris time, the 5 nanosatellites of the 4th "IoT 4 You & Me" mission launched aboard the Electron rocket from Rocket Lab’s launch site in New Zealand. They were successfully deployed and joined the 15 satellites already in orbit. Thanks to Rocket Lab’s expertise, they were precisely placed on their intended trajectory.

“Producing 25 nanosatellites in France and putting them into orbit in just 8 months is a huge first, and a major challenge! With this fourth and penultimate launch, Kinéis is getting closer to its ambitious goal: offering global IoT coverage with a complete constellation of 25 nanosatellites. This milestone showcases the expertise and determination of our teams and partners. We are deeply grateful for the support and commitment we have received since the creation of Kinéis. Together, we proudly represent France on the international satellite IoT stage.”
Michel Sarthou, CTO of Kinéis.
Soon, our 5th and final launch will complete our constellation. Our satellite network will then be fully operational, offering global connectivity for access to strategic information in just minutes.

NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
Europorte, Kerlink, and CLS confirm their trust in satellite IoT connectivity.
The success of the 4th launch marks a new milestone for Kinéis, which continues to move toward its goal of offering global IoT coverage. This momentum is accompanied by the signing of two new strategic contracts: one with Europorte-Kerlink and the other with CLS, as well as winning a tender under the France 2030 space plan.
These collaborations confirm the trust that economic players have in the innovation and reliability of Kinéis' satellite connectivity solutions.
Europorte-Kerlink: optimizing freight wagon tracking
The consortium formed by Europorte and Kerlink has chosen Kinéis to deploy 10,000 Track Value sensors by 2026. This technology aims to improve rail logistics by facilitating railcar geolocation, predictive maintenance, and optimizing the flow of goods.
CLS: strengthening fishing vessel and livestock tracking
CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) is also expanding its partnership with Kinéis, planning to connect 17,000 devices in 2025 and 3,000 in 2026 via our satellite network. The sensors will improve the management and traceability of fishing fleets and livestock tracking in remote areas.
With these advancements, Kinéis takes a significant step toward its ambition of becoming a global reference for satellite IoT data transmission.

PROTECT YOUR ELECTRICITY NETWORKS
Optimize the management of your infrastructure by combining security, efficiency, and sustainability.
Electrical infrastructure, critical for energy supply, is often located in hard-to-reach areas. Its management requires regular monitoring to prevent costly and dangerous failures. However, manual inspections are expensive, risky, and sometimes inefficient, especially in areas without reliable terrestrial network coverage.
Continuous monitoring with Kinéis satellite IoT
Kinéis IoT solutions provide near real-time coverage, even in the most remote areas, thanks to the IoT sensors from our partners that are detectable by our satellites. This allows for immediate detection of any anomalies and intervention before a major failure occurs. With process automation, interventions are better targeted, reducing operational costs and optimizing the efficiency of your infrastructure on a daily basis.
Impacts: optimization, security, and savings

KINÉIS AT PDAC
Satellite IoT connectivity serving the mining sector
The PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) will take place in Toronto from March 2-5. This leading event in the mining sector will bring together key industry players to discuss innovations and upcoming challenges.
During the event, Business France will host the French Mining Days, an initiative to showcase French expertise in the mining sector. Kinéis will be present at the Business France stand (6724N) to present its satellite connectivity solutions designed to meet the needs of mining professionals.
Why connect your mining equipment via satellite?
In isolated and demanding environments where the mining industry operates, terrestrial connectivity is often limited or nonexistent. With Kinéis’ satellite connectivity, mining operators have constant access to essential data to:
- Track mining equipment instantly in remote areas,
- Monitor the environment and ecological impact by continuously collecting data on environmental parameters,
- Optimize logistics and inventory management to assist in supply chain management without geographic constraints.
With fast, accurate, and uninterrupted access to strategic information, mining operators gain efficiency, security, and profitability.
