3rd launch for the deployment of the constellation
Press release • November 13, 2024
5 additional nanosatellites will be placed into orbit for the Kinéis loT and AIS missions
Just two months after the successful 2nd launch on 21 September, satellite operator and connectivity provider for the Internet of Things (loT) Kinéis is continuing the deployment of the 1st European constellation dedicated to the loT. This 3rd launch, dubbed 'Ice AIS Baby', is scheduled for a 14-day launch window, starting on Saturday 23 November 2024, from New Zealand, using Rocket Lab's Electron launcher. The Toulouse-based company is sticking to its launch schedule and announcing the introduction of a new service, the AIS (Automatic Identification System), designed for the global maritime sector.
Talking about the 3rd launch, Alexandre Tisserant, CEO of Kinéis, said:
Kinéis is relentlessly pursuing the deployment of its 25-satellite constellation, in line with the announced schedule. Efforts are being maintained by the technical teams operating our first 10 nanosatellites in flight and who will manage the positioning of the 5 new ones. This delicate operation is supported by the precision injection of our satellites into their positions by Rocket Lab's Electron launcher.
